Downtown Pittsfield’s arts district offers a rich diversity of culture, arts and entertainment. With the Barrington Stage Company, Colonial Theater and New Stage Theatre, the district has blossomed into a hub for live theatre, music, and the performing arts. The Beacon Cinema and the Little Theater offer a variety of independent and popular films as well as special film festivals. The newly renovated Berkshire Museum, the Lichtenstein Center, Berkshire Music School, three dance studios and more than 50 artist studios guarantee that there is something downtown for everyone.

First Fridays Artswalk

First Fridays Artswalk is the largest year-round monthly visual arts event in the Berkshires. Every first Friday of each month downtown retailers, restaurants and businesses along North and South Streets, transform into art galleries from 5-8pm. You’ll have the opportunity to stop into over twenty locations to explore artwork and meet the artist during their opening receptions.

Barrington Stage Company

Barrington Stage Company has gained regional and national recognition for its mix of drama and musicals that have won a number of prestigious awards. Many of these successful productions have gone on to Broadway and off Broadway.

Located within the Berkshire Museum, the Little Cinema presents throughout the year an array of international and art films.
