Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. presents the 1st Annual Festive Frolic in downtown Pittsfield on December 7th from 4 to 8 pm. The community is invited to come downtown and enjoy free and low-cost family-friendly activities in honor of the holiday season. Enjoy 16 art shows, crafts and cookie decorating, the Park Square tree lighting, reduced admission to the Festival of Trees at the Berkshire Museum, a free Salsa lesson, and more. Downtown shops will be open late with great deals perfect for early holiday shopping and restaurants will be serving up specials for those attending the Festive Frolic. Be on the lookout for our Caroling Flash Mob and surprises throughout the evening.

 

The Frolic is partnering with the December 7th First Fridays Artswalk to bring you sixteen art shows featuring over three dozen accomplished regional artists. There will be opening receptions and artists present throughout the “walk” from 5 to 8 pm, and a free guided walking tour will kick-off at 5 pm at the Intermodal Center at BRTA, 1 Columbus Ave.

On December 7th, beginning at 5 pm, visit the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts at 28 Renne Avenue to purchase your HANDMADE holiday wreath, kissing ball, or centerpiece at the 4th Annual Wreath Art Auction. All items are handmade by local artists. The wreaths will be on display during a $10 ticketed event with a preview from 5 to 6:30 pm. The live auction will begin at 6:30 pm. Grab and go items will also be available for purchase. Music will be provided by Kaz Smith. All proceeds will benefit the food pantry at the South Congregational Church in Pittsfield.

Park Square tree lighting ceremony

6 pm

Get in the holiday spirit at the Park Square tree lighting ceremony. Enjoy carols performed by the Taconic High School Chorus and hot chocolate provided by Patrick’s Pub. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive after the tree is lit.

Those planning to attend the ceremony are asked to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Christian Center’s food pantry.

Framework is hosting a pop-up market in their co-working space from 4 to 8 pm.

There will be vendors for your holiday shopping or personal indulgences (we would never judge), free ornament making for the young and young-at-heart, hot beverages to warm your hands and heart, on-site massage to untangle your holiday tension, music to get you into the spirit of the season, and more! Plus, enter a raffle for day passes to Framework.
