Braise Worthy:

Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA):

BRTA Service Update 5/1/2020

The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) is committed to the health and safety of our customers utilizing BRTA services during this uncertain time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Charlie Baker issued COVID-19 Order 31 requiring everyone to wear a mask in public including public transportation starting Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

All customers using the BRTA bus and/or paratransit must wear a mask or face covering over their mouth and nose, as recommended by the CDC, while onboard any BRTA vehicle. Visit for a tutorial on making your own cloth face cover and important information on how to wear a face cover. Also, practice social distancing while riding on the bus; maintain space when seated.

All riders must be traveling to a critical, essential destination. Critical trips are defined as work related, vital appointments, or necessary shopping trips. All riders are required to exit the bus at the end of the route, or your stated destination, and may not re-board the same vehicle for a return trip. Multiple or consecutive round trips are not permitted and riders who appear to be loitering will be asked to deboard.

BRTA has installed plexiglass barriers on all BRTA vehicles to protect the operator and customers when boarding the vehicles.

For your health and the health of others, if you are sick, have a cough, fever, or other COVID-19 symptoms, do not ride the BRTA bus.

Beginning May 27, 2020, The Arts in Recovery for Youth (AIRY) suicide prevention program at NUarts re-opens with 25% capacity and social distancing guidelines. Groups meet via hybrid format with part studio participation and part video conferencing. AIRY is held on Mondays 5-7 pm, Wednesdays 5-7 pm, and Fridays 3:30-5:30 pm. Our free Digital Art Group for youth is open via video conferencing on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 pm.

AIRY is currently accepting teens and young adults struggling with suicidal thoughts, anxiety, depression and isolation during this difficult time. There is no cost to attend.

In addition, Arts in Recovery is offering an extension program funded by the COVID Relief grant. “Coping with Art” has two free art therapy groups, one for adults and one for families. Per request, free art supplies will be home delivered to families in need.

Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital and Shaker Hill Pet Resort:

As an essential business we remain OPEN from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and from 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

In an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to keep our staff and clients safe, we are following a curbside concierge care protocol. When you arrive at the practice, please call our team and one of our team members will escort your pet from your car into our hospital. Our doctors will examine your pet while you wait and speak with you to discuss any questions and their care. This protocol will also be used for medication and food pick ups, as well as dropping off and picking up pets for the Resort. We are here for you and your pets. Thank you for helping us all stay safe.

COVID-19 Protocol: Please call our office when you arrive at 413-499-1580 and let us know what numbered parking spot you are in. Remain in your car and a team member will be out to escort your pet in for their care while you wait.
