Discover Jules Verne’s mythical world of 20\,000 Leagues Under the Sea\, explore a Cabinet of Curiosities full of marine specimens\, practice operating a submarine\, and learn about the underwater world as seen from inside a deep-sea exploration vessel. Selections from the Museum’s collection of nautical paintings accompany this exhibition.

DESCRIPTION:Come enjoy a day of winter fun at Hancock Shaker Village on Sunday\, February 20 from 11-4.\n\n• Maple tapping demos\n• Live music by Wild Bill & the Flying Sparks in The Believer’s Room\n• Guided walking tours of the Village\n• Ice talks & Ice sculpting\n• Story Walk & Scavenger Hunt\n• Snowshoeing/hiking on the Farm and Forest Trail (bring yours)\n• Blacksmithing & Woodworking demos\n• Snow fun—build a snowperson\, make a snow angel\, do a snow craft\, play snow games (hula hoop snowman toss)\n• Farm Animals (can you guess which are the pregnant pigs?)\n\n\n\nPlus\, warm up by our bonfire and enjoy lunch or a beverage from Bimi’s Cafe. The bar is open for wine\, Big Elm Beer\, and mulled cider.\n\n\n\nAll activities are included in the special $15 admission and FREE to members and children under 12. The Big Chill is part of the Pittsfield’s Office of Cultural Development 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival and it is made possible with support from the Pittsfield Cooperative Bank.
