SUMMARY:“A Taste of Downtown” – February’s Downtown Pittsfield Restaurant Celebration
DESCRIPTION:In February 2025\, Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. will present “A Taste of Downtown” – a month-long Downtown Restaurant Celebration – in partnership with Mill Town Foundation. Nineteen restaurants and bars in downtown Pittsfield will be participating. \n  \n“A Taste of Downtown” will feature marketing efforts to highlight downtown Pittsfield’s local restaurants and restaurant owners and the Taste of Downtown Giveaway which will be an incentive for people to dine in local restaurants over the course of the month. \n  \nThe prize for the Taste of Downtown Giveaway will be 19 gift cards – one from each of the participating restaurants – a $500 value. Every purchase at a participating restaurant will count as one entry to win the prize package. Ask your server for the QR code to enter the contest at the time of purchase. There will be double entries when you dine on Monday through Wednesday\, and there is no limit to the number of entries per location. SUMMARY:Photography Exhibition: Focus on Downtown
DESCRIPTION:Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. and Framework will feature a brand-new photography exhibition entitled Focus on Downtown February 3 through March 26 at Framework by Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. (437 North Street). \nThe exhibit features three Berkshires-based photographers who will show you Downtown Pittsfield through their lens. Brian Beckett\, Shaun Harmon\, and Autumn Phoenix will take over the Framework gallery space with vibrant and artistic shots of Downtown. There will be a reception with the photographers on Sunday\, February 23\, 10 am to 12 pm\, as part of the 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival. The reception will be in collaboration with the artist reception and Domingo Brunch at Dottie’s Coffee Lounge. \nBrian Beckett has had a love of taking pictures since his parents got him his first Polaroid iZone in the early 2000s. Twenty plus years later\, he still can be found at any family gathering\, or event\, with some kind of camera in hand capturing the moment. \nFocusing on portraiture and lifestyle for professional work\, Brian enjoys shooting a wide array of photographic genres\, constantly trying new things. Brian recently won both the 2023 and 2024 Pittsfield Photo Challenge sponsored by Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. With a keen eye for detail\, Autumn’s passion for photography is deeply rooted in her early childhood. Her grandfather used to take photos of her non-stop while she was growing up. Not only did he buy Autumn her first camera\, but he also instilled in her the importance of capturing life’s most significant moments. Sadly\, he passed away in 2017\, but she feels that with every photo she takes\, she is carrying on his tradition on a much larger scale. \nWith the ultimate dream of traveling and photographing the world\, Autumn continuously practices her craft daily. Whether she is out shooting\, studying new techniques\, or editing photos at home\, it is incredibly important to her that her clients and followers receive photos of the highest quality. \nAutumn has had the opportunity to work with both companies and non-profits such as the Berkshire County Community Action Council (BCAC)\, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)\, United Way\, Berkshire Pride\, Hampshire Pride\, and Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. (DPI). She has also had the pleasure of working with small businesses such as Truffles by Tarah\, Witch Slapped\, The Dollhaus Berkshires\, Marie’s North Street Eatery and Gallery\, and Bottomless Bricks. \nAutumn is not limited to working with businesses and non-profits. She also does headshots\, portraits\, engagement sessions\, political events\, weddings\, and almost anything else you can imagine.
