DESCRIPTION:Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. will present Indoors Out! Free Kids’ Paint & Sip on Friday\, September 2\, 5-7 pm\, at the parklet and outdoor seating area at The Marketplace Café\, 53 North Street. This event will be held in conjunction with the September 2nd First Fridays Artswalk which will take place in a dozen locations in downtown Pittsfield from 5 to 8 pm. \nThis free event is best suited for ages 5 to 12\, although older children are welcome. All materials\, snacks\, and juice will be provided. For the September Paint & Sip\, children can paint whatever they like! Children must be accompanied by an adult and masks are recommended. The alternate rain location will be at Hot Harry’s covered outdoor seating area at 37 North Street. \nIndoors Out! Free Kids’ Paint & Sip is presented by Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. and funding has been provided by the Commonwealth Places Program created by MassDevelopment. The event is presented in partnership with First Fridays Artswalk.

SUMMARY:Watercolor Foundations (Fall Session 1)
DESCRIPTION:A versatile approach to the art of watercolor painting\, this class led by local painter\, Jill Gustavis\, will familiarize students with supplies\, theory\, and techniques. Practicing washes and brushwork\, students will learn about water control and working with their paints. Skills covered will slowly expand to include more subtle and nuanced techniques each week. By the end of the class students should have a foundation to pursue watercolor techniques in a variety of methods. This class is taking place at Berkshire Art Center’s newest second location\, the Brothership Building at 141 North Street in Pittsfield. Register online at berkshireartcenter.org. This is an ongoing 6-week course on Thursdays\, September 15 – October 13. $243.75
