On the Road is sponsored by Mill Town Capital. \nVersa-Style Dance Company\nGREAT BARRINGTON\nLocation: Town Hall Park\, 334 Main St.\nDate and Time: Saturday\, July 16 at 1pm \nBECKET\nLocation: North Becket Park\, Maple St.\nDate and Time: Sunday\, July 17 at 1pm \n  \nMambo Royalty\nPITTSFIELD\nLocation: The First Street Common\, 100 First St.\nDate and Time: Thursday\, July 21 at 5:30pm \n\n\nAll Jacob’s Pillow On the Road performances are free and open to the public. \n  \n\n\nAbout the Artists\nVersa-Style Dance Company: ORIGINS of Hip Hop consists of high-energy\, unadulterated hip-hop movement that explores and pushes the boundaries of the origins and roots of street vernacular dances such as Locking\, Popping\, Hip Hop\, and Krump. Audiences will walk away with a different view on Hip Hop dance culture and will be vividly immersed into the depth and beauty that unites us all. Berkshire artists will also perform\, to be announced at a later date. \nMambo Royalty will perform with a group of six salsa dancers\, in collaboration with Pittsfield’s Third Thursday Celebration. Mambo Royalty is led by Eddie Torres Jr.\, son of legendary Latin dancer Eddie Torres and flamenco dancer Nélida Tirado\, whose career highlights include performances at Madison Square Garden\, Harvard University\, and featured appearances with the Recording Academy/Grammys\, MTV\, Access Hollywood\, and Lincoln Center; and Princess Serrano\, who spent countless hours training and studying in various Latin companies including Fuego Dance Company\, Art in Motion\, and Iroko\, and whose recent projects include the Warner Brothers movie In The Heights as a dancer and Latin choreographer. \n  \nBerkshire artists will also perform\, to be announced at a later date.

DESCRIPTION:Common Room\, Zion Lutheran Church\, 74 First Street \nEVIDENCE’s community workshop invites movers of all ages and backgrounds to participate in a class blending contemporary\, African\, and Caribbean dance styles. Participants will explore EVIDENCE’s spiritually-infused vocabulary which includes themes of strength\, prayer\, and celebration via movements that teach rhythm and bodily expression. Participants should dress in loose-fitting clothing and bring an open heart. No dance experience is needed. \nCommunity members of all ages are invited to explore the varied works of visiting artists through movement and conversation. SUMMARY:Indoors Out! Dance on North
DESCRIPTION:Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. will present Indoors Out! Dance on North on Saturday\, September 25\, 5 to 7 pm\, at Persip Park\, 175 North Street. \nIndoors Out! Dance on North features work by RawDance\, Fiona Scruggs\, Fern Katz\, Danielle Galietti\, and Molly Hess. \nRAWDance co-artistic directors Wendy Rein and Ryan Smith will perform A Dance on North\, a duet that explores the dynamics of sharing personal space in public. RAWDance is based out of Hudson\, NY and San Francisco\, CA. \nDancers of The Berkshires\, a local dance collective made up of emerging choreographers and dancers\, will be performing two works. The first\, Qualia\, is choreographed by Fiona Scruggs and performed by Veronica Bone and Gillian Ebersole. Qualia is inspired by one’s individual experience of consciousness. \nThe second\, Remnants\, is choreographed by Anna Gishan and performed by Fran Katz\, and explores the questions: What remains? How do we remember? \nMolly Hess\, a Berkshires based choreographer and dancer\, creates playful and tender work meant to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages. For this event\, she will be joined by Mary Teusche in a work entitled “Out-of-House” Plants. \nDanielle Galienti\, a North Adams based dancer and choreographer\, will present Material Imagination: the birth of a black hole. In this piece\, Danielle uses a mylar box dress to explore expansion and collapse. \nPerformances will loop over the course of the two-hour event\, with each performer dancing twice\, so there is plenty of time to catch the action. \nIndoors Out! Dance on North is presented by Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. and funding has been provided by the Commonwealth Places Program created by MassDevelopment. The event is presented in partnership with ArtWeek Berkshires. For more information\, visit downtownpittsfield.com. Masks are recommended. \nThe rain date for Indoors Out!
