DESCRIPTION:For 50 years the Polish Picnic has been a tradition that has carried forth from Holy Family Church to St. Joseph’s Church on the Parish Grounds.  This event continues to draw a large attendance. \n  \nPolish food available for purchase includes the following: \nKielbasa\, Kapusta\, Golumbki and Pierogi. \nFrozen Polish food can be purchased starting at 9 am. \nHot Polish dinners will be available at 12 pm.\nAmerican fair  available for purchase includes:  Hot dogs\, hamburgers\, beer\, wine\, soda and various desserts. \nVarious raffles will be held including the popular Lottery ticket tree. \nEntertainment for your listening and dancing pleasure will be provided by The Rymanowski Brothers of Albany\, NY from 1 to 5 pm! \nKiddy Land with Mr. Bouncy Bounce and other children’s games will be set up to entertain the younger members of the family.  Bring your lawn chair for an afternoon of fun and enjoyment! \nAdmission is free! Based in Columbia\, Maryland\, the Teelin Irish Dance Company has graced stages locally\, nationally\, and internationally with world class Irish step dance. Under the vision of Director Maureen Berry\, recipient of the 2009 Individual Artist Award for Choreography from the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) and the 2016 Howie Award from the Howard County Arts Council\, the company’s innovative style fuses traditional Irish step dance with contemporary dance. \nIn addition to numerous performances at public\, private\, and corporate events\, Teelin Irish Dance Company is also well known for its original productions of feature-length stage shows: Portraits of Ireland (2006-2011)\, StepDance (2012-2013)\, Sláinte (2014)\, and Celtic Storm (2016-2019). Prestigious venues for these productions include the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick\, the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore\, Stephens Hall Theatre at Towson University\, the Chesapeake Arts Center in Brooklyn Park\, and the Meyerhoff Auditorium at the Baltimore Museum of Art.

The TL Collective fuses contemporary dance and theatrical hip-hop with elements of groove and acrobatics\, bringing high levels of athleticism to the stage. \nArtistic Director Micaela Taylor is highly acclaimed\, included as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” and recent recipient of the Inaugural EMERGE Choreographic Award from Springboard Danse Montréal. The TL Collective performs Taylor’s newest evening-length work “Drift”\, which seeks to demonstrate an individual’s ever-changing relationship to self while exposing a personal season of self-growth.

DESCRIPTION:Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. (DPI) will feature photography by Charles Edson for the month of June. There will be a reception during First Fridays Artswalk on Friday\, June 7\, 5 to 8 pm. \nCharles Edson is an avid hiker and adventure photographer who captures his journeys and experiences while hiking the mountains of the Northeast. Originally from Maryland\, Charles moved north to Massachusetts in 2010 to attend college. In the Berkshire Mountains\, Charles also fell in love with hiking- a love that would lead him to the tops of mountains throughout the Northeast and across the United States. He’s climbed all of the mountains over 4000 feet in elevation in New York\, Vermont\, New Hampshire and Maine. Charles has also summited Mount Rainier\, the highest mountain in Washington and one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. He has his sights on climbing Mount Denali\, the highest peak in North America and one of the most prominent peaks on Earth. Charles enjoys the challenge of mountaineering and adventuring in some of nature’s most challenging conditions. When not climbing mountains\, he’s enjoys volunteering in the outdoors and giving back to the hiking community. Charles is a corridor monitor for the Massachusetts Section of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and a volunteer Search and Rescue member. He currently resides in Lee\, Massachusetts.
