DESCRIPTION:Pittsfield CityJazz Festival\nApril 23 – May 1 \n“Jazz About Town” takes on two forms: the first Berkshires Jazz Jam (Saturday\, April 23 at Mission Gastropub\, 7-10 pm) with rotating local artists; and the annual Jazz Crawl (Saturday\, April 30\, in various venues throughout Pittsfield’s Upstreet Cultural District). \nJazz prodigy Ruby Farmer\, a 16-year-old bassist\, will be appearing during the 100th birthday observation of Charles Mingus. She will be accompanied by Benny Kohn (piano) and Conor Meehan (drums) on Wednesday\, April 27 at 7 pm at the Berkshire Athenaeum. \nThe George Russell\, Jr. Trio with vocalist Lydia Harrell will perform at the Berkshire Museum on Friday\, April 29 at 7:30 pm. The Boston stalwarts make their Berkshires debut with a program of jazz and blues. Click here for more information and tickets. \nBe in the audience for the first stop on a CD release tour by the DIVA Jazz Orchestra (“DIVA Swings Broadway”).
