DESCRIPTION:Friday through Sunday\, July 22\, 23\, 24 and July 29\, 30\, 31\n7:30 pm \nReWritten is an immersive performance that explores the often-silenced intimate relationship between authors Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville. Moving between their lives\, work\, and remaining letters\, ReWritten reimagines an intergenerational queer love story that helped shape American literature. Through dance\, live music\, visual art\, projection\, and text this performance questions what happens when we say no to dreams when we want to say yes. DESCRIPTION:Berkshire Jazz Showcase\nSaturday\, July 23\, 1 to 5 pm\nThe First Street Common \nThis free concert will feature four of the most popular and versatile regional bands in the performance pavilion on Pittsfield’s First Street Common. \nThe wide-ranging lineup for the jazz extravaganza will include: \nThe Michael Fahn Quartet and the Giuffre/Brookmeyer Project paying homage to two of jazz’ most innovative composers \nThe Suzi Stern Quartet headed by the renowned Boston vocalist who now calls the Berkshires home \nRob Putnam\, the veteran\, multi-talented musician featured with his organ trio \nThe Dave Bartley Quartet with its instrumental and vocal Mississippi blues and jazz repertoire \nAudiences are advised to bring blankets or chairs.
