SUMMARY:Lez Zeppelin
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2004\, the all-girl quartet\, Lez Zeppelin\, has gained critical acclaim as one of the most exciting live acts around\, becoming the first female rock act to pay homage to Led Zeppelin. Lez Zeppelin stays true to the musically audacious spirit of the original\, delivering the legendary rock band’s blistering arrangements and monstrous sound note-for-note at sold-out frenzied shows around the world. Legendary guitarist and Led Zeppelin founder\, Jimmy Page said\, “They played the Led Zeppelin music with an extraordinary sensuality and an energy and passion that highlighted their superb musicianship.” \nWhat sets Lez Zeppelin apart is the seamless and unique way they infuse their gender-bending performance into the original material. They have been featured on the BBC\, CNN\, ABC\, CBS\, MTV\, VH1\, FOX and radio shows worldwide\, such as Sirius XM and NPR. The group’s first studio album\, Lez Zeppelin\, was produced by multi-Grammy Award-winner and producer/engineer\, Eddie Kramer\, whose long-term associations include Led Zeppelin\, Jimi Hendrix\, and Kiss. The group’s second LP\, Lez Zeppelin I\, is an authentic re-make of Led Zeppelin’s first album\, using the same vintage equipment employed by Led in 1968. \nSince Lez Zeppelin’s formation\, the group has broken glass ceilings\, whether it’s playing on a catwalk above Times Square for 40\,000\, playing the main stage at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival\, or taking the stage at Madison Square Garden. Spin Magazine called them\, “The most powerful all-female band in rock history.” \nClick here to purchase tickets for BTG events or call the box office at 413-997-4444.

SUMMARY:Indoors Out! Music on North
DESCRIPTION:Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. will present Indoors Out! Music on North on Friday\, October 1\, 5-7 pm\, at Sotille Park\, Persip Park\, and the parklet at the Marketplace Cafe. The three downtown locations will feature free outdoor performances by local performers who have also played with Berkshire Busk. The performances will be presented in partnership with First Fridays Artswalk which will occur from 5-8 pm on October 1. \nAt Sotille Park\, 200 North Street\, enjoy singer/songwriter Jaane Doe’s blend of country-tinged Americana\, folk\, and pop music\, the product of many magical encounters along her musical journey. \nAt Persip Park\, 175 North Street\, you can enjoy Garrin Benfield’s freestyle acoustic rock. His music is a blend of moody\, guitar driven rock and polyrhythmic groove\, all run through the filter of a very serious singer/songwriter. Playing eclectic sets at hundreds of shows every year\, Benfield has become an underground favorite at festivals\, rock clubs\, coffeehouses\, and house concerts. \nThe Marketplace Cafe’s parklet at 53 North Street will feature The Midnight Anthem: a musical trio made up of Catherine\, Sophia and Grace\, cousins by birth\, but sisters at heart. The group has an uncanny knack for creating music that is both fun to listen to and touches the soul\, and their music is an entertaining blend of original songs and popular tunes with a country flair. \nIndoors Out! Music on North is presented by Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. and funding has been provided by the Commonwealth Places Program created by MassDevelopment. \nThe event is presented in partnership with Berkshire Busk and First Fridays Artswalk. Masks are recommended.

SUMMARY:Indoors Out! Dance on North
DESCRIPTION:Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. will present Indoors Out! Dance on North on Saturday\, September 25\, 5 to 7 pm\, at Persip Park\, 175 North Street. \nIndoors Out! Dance on North features work by RawDance\, Fiona Scruggs\, Fern Katz\, Danielle Galietti\, and Molly Hess. \nRAWDance co-artistic directors Wendy Rein and Ryan Smith will perform A Dance on North\, a duet that explores the dynamics of sharing personal space in public. RAWDance is based out of Hudson\, NY and San Francisco\, CA. \nDancers of The Berkshires\, a local dance collective made up of emerging choreographers and dancers\, will be performing two works. The first\, Qualia\, is choreographed by Fiona Scruggs and performed by Veronica Bone and Gillian Ebersole. Qualia is inspired by one’s individual experience of consciousness. \nThe second\, Remnants\, is choreographed by Anna Gishan and performed by Fran Katz\, and explores the questions: What remains? How do we remember? \nMolly Hess\, a Berkshires based choreographer and dancer\, creates playful and tender work meant to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages. For this event\, she will be joined by Mary Teusche in a work entitled “Out-of-House” Plants. \nDanielle Galienti\, a North Adams based dancer and choreographer\, will present Material Imagination: the birth of a black hole. In this piece\, Danielle uses a mylar box dress to explore expansion and collapse. \nPerformances will loop over the course of the two-hour event\, with each performer dancing twice\, so there is plenty of time to catch the action. \nIndoors Out! Dance on North is presented by Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. and funding has been provided by the Commonwealth Places Program created by MassDevelopment. The event is presented in partnership with ArtWeek Berkshires. For more information\, visit downtownpittsfield.com. Masks are recommended. \nThe rain date for Indoors Out! Dance on North is Sunday\, September 26 at 5 pm. Notice will be made on downtownpittsfield.com and on Facebook (@DowntownPittsfield) by noon on Saturday\, September 25 if the event is moved to the rain date.
