(DPI) will host Downtown Pittsfield Restaurant Week during and in conjunction with the City of Pittsfield’s 12th Annual 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival from February 16-26\, 2023. \n  \nDowntown Pittsfield Restaurant Week is sponsored by Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc. and the Mill Town Foundation. \n  \nDowntown Pittsfield Restaurant Week will feature a passport to encourage people to dine in as many restaurants as possible over the 10 days. Patrons will receive a stamp on their passport for each unique place they dine\, with each stamp being an entry into a prize package drawing for restaurant gift cards. If a person visits 10 different places in the 10 days\, they will get 10 bonus entries\, and if they donate a non-perishable food item to benefit the South Community Food Pantry at South Congregational Church\, they will also receive a bonus stamp. Donations may be dropped off at Downtown Pittsfield\, Inc.\, 33 Dunham Mall\, from 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. \n  \nThe passport will be available at participating locations the week of February 16. Participating locations include 101 Restaurant & Bar\, Berkshire Palate\, Dottie’s Coffee Lounge\, Espetinho Carioca\, Hot Harry’s\, Hot Plate Brewing Co.\, LuLu’s Tiny Grocery\, Methuselah Bar & Lounge\, Otto’s Kitchen & Comfort\, Patrick’s Pub\, Thistle and Mirth\, and Thrive Diner. \n  \nCompleted passports may be dropped off at any location above. Passports will be collected from those locations on Monday\, February 27\, and a winner will be chosen the week of March 6\, 2023. DESCRIPTION:Join BEAT for this exciting wildlife event with Dan Gardoqui\, a skilled naturalist\, wildlife tracker\, and educator. Dan will share photos and stories from his tracking experiences\, leading us to make deeper connections with the natural world and the wildlife that surrounds us. The presentation will take place in BCC’s Boland Theater on Friday\, January 20\, at 6 pm. Dan will speak for approximately 60 minutes\, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, with a $10 suggested donation. \nThe following day – Saturday\, January 21 – Dan will lead two back-to-back tracking workshops. Each workshop costs $50 and has a limited space of 10 participants. You can find more details on the workshops by clicking here. \nFor over 30 years\, Dan Gardoqui has been a student\, teacher\, observer\, and active participant in the more-than-human world. A Certified Wildlife Tracker since 2006\, he has trained hundreds in the science and art of tracking. Dan is also a bird language expert and bird mimic – known for his YouTube series “Learn a Bird.” Some of his contributions include the books “Mammal Tracks & Sign: A Guide to North American Species” (Elbroch & MacFarland) and “What the Robin Knows: How Birds Reveal Nature’s Secrets” (Young). Dan applies wildlife tracking skills in citizen science projects (e.g.\, Canada Lynx\, Flying Squirrels\, Moose\, Eastern Wolf) and as a Registered Maine Guide – serving educational\, recreational\, and hunting clients. Dan serves as founder and consultant at Lead with Nature.

Featuring a variety of live owls\, this captivating and informative program shows how owls use their specialized powers of sight\, hearing\, and flight to survive and thrive. \n  \nThis educational program is presented by Wingmasters\, a partnership of two licensed raptor rehabilitators dedicated to increasing public understanding and appreciation of North American birds of prey. \n  \nA ticket for this program also includes admission to two new exhibitions Hoot’s Holiday: A Solstice Tale and Santa Classics by Philadelphia-based artist Ed Wheeler. In Hoot’s Holiday\, follow Hoot\, an owl living on the roof of the Museum\, and prepare for a Winter Solstice party by traveling through time and visiting historic locations around the Berkshires. Santa Classics features a selection of 31 works from Ed Wheeler’s catalog along with the Museum’s 15-foot tall\, decorated tree in the center of the Ellen Crane Memorial Room. \n  \n“Wingmasters’ World of Owls” is recommended for ages 5 and up. Tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for children and include Museum admission. Tickets for Museum members are $7 for adults and $5 for children.
