DESCRIPTION:An Online Talk with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center \nFree and open to all | Online via Zoom\nClick here to RSVP \n\nMeeting the Commonwealth’s interim 2030 climate goals will require a dramatic expansion of our investments in economy-wide decarbonization from our buildings to our vehicles\, our energy supply\, and the electric grid that must all support this transition. Learn about how the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s investments in clean energy and climate technology\, market development\, infrastructure\, and workforce development – across all sectors – are accelerating the pace of our progress\, reducing the cost of the energy transition\, and helping the state achieve its ambitious climate objectives. \nThe event will feature team members from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MCEC)\, including representatives from programs focused on the Net Zero Grid\, the Built Environment\, Clean Transportation\, and Offshore Wind Energy.  It will be moderated by Jeff Lynch\, Founder and CEO of Idle Smart\, a Berkshire County company\, supported by MCEC\, whose proprietary solution allows fleets of all sizes to reduce extended idle fuel costs by 50-70% and reduce CO2 output. \n\nCo-sponsored by 1Berkshire and the Berkshire Innovation Center

SUMMARY:November First Fridays Artswalk
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy brand new indoor art shows during the First Fridays Artswalk on Friday\, November 5\, 5 to 8 pm. Download the Downtown Pittsfield app in the App Store or on Google Play to follow a virtual walking tour of art\, including all of Pittsfield’s Paintboxes\, on your cell phone. \n  \nHotel on North\, 297 North Street\, will feature WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE by Scott Taylor for the November Artswalk. WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE is a sampling of the work Taylor created during the pandemic. Many of the paintings speak of containment\, some visually looking outward\, some inward. Some return to a simpler time that we once knew hoping to find comfort in our own existence. There will be a reception with the artist on Friday\, November 5\, 5 to 8 pm\, as part of First Fridays Artswalk. \n  \nThe Brothership Building Window at 141 North Street\, curated by IS183 Art School of the Berkshires\, will feature “Little Kids\, Big Issues” by Stephanie VanBramer\, November 5-28. \n  \nRegularly taking inspiration from personal experiences\, conversations\, thoughts about everyday life\, and the lessons she has learned along the way\, VanBramer creates artwork that sparks reality checks and speaks out\, making it known that it has something to say. She creates little characters with big personalities and even bigger ideas. \n  \nArtists in the Guild of Berkshire Artists will show their work in a show entitled Plein Air in the Berkshires during the month of November at TKG Real Estate\, 137 North Street. There will be a reception as part of First Fridays Artswalk on Friday\, November 5\, 5 to 8 pm. The work will be up during the month of November and can be viewed when TKG is open. Featured artists are Sally Lebwohl\, pastels; Jorie Latham\, watercolors and mixed media; and Debbie Schneer\, photography. \n  \nMCLA Pittsfield at 66 Allen Street will feature an art show of faces by Dana Schildkraut from November 5-30. Schildkraut is an award-winning artist and educator who resides in Southern Vermont\, working in mixed media: paper mache\, watercolor paint\, and polymer clay. \n  \nThere will be an opening reception as part of First Fridays Artswalk from 5 to 6:30 pm on November 5. After the opening\, Schildkraut’s work can be viewed by appointment Monday through Friday\, 9 am to 4 pm. To make an appointment\, please call 413-662-5576 or 413-662-5422. \n  \nThe Berkshire Art Association will present DISTILLATIONS\, An Art Show\, at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts\, 28 Renne Avenue\, through November 28. \n  \nDISTILLATIONS features work by artists Peg Dotchin\, Jesse Tobin McCauley\, and Ilene Spiewak – artists who have met the chaos\, confusion and concerns of this moment in their artistic processes with a great passion for art and design. The gallery will be open on Friday\, November 5\, 5 to 8 pm\, during First Fridays Artswalk. Additional gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday\, 11 am to 3 pm\, or by appointment. \n  \nThe Unitarian Universalist Church of Pittsfield\, 175 Wendell Avenue\, will present a show by mother-daughter team\, Kerry and Kamille Hylton\, for the month of November. Kerry and Kamille enjoy creating unique enjoyable artwork targeting all age groups. Works on display will be acrylic paint on canvas. There will be a reception with the artists on Friday\, November 5\, 5 to 8 pm\, as part of First Fridays Artswalk. \n  \nThe November Artswalk will also highlight murals downtown including: The Sun Will Rise by Jesse Tobin McCauley\, Jay Tobin and Stephanie Quetti at 443 North Street and Gaia on Melville Street by Mike Carty. Also highlighted will be all of Artscape’s Pittsfield Paintboxes. \n  \nAll art exhibits are on display in participating venues throughout the month. For more information on First Fridays Artswalk and to view a listing and map of all participating artists and locations\, visit www.FirstFridaysArtswalk.com. \n  \nFirst Fridays Artswalk is supported in part by a grant from the Pittsfield Cultural Council\, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council\, a state agency. SUMMARY:The Stompers - Farewell (Western Mass.) Performance
DESCRIPTION:Legendary Boston rockers\, The Stompers\, will make their first Berkshire County appearance in decades when they hit the stage at the Colonial on Saturday\, November 13th. \nThe group was formed in East Boston in 1977 by lead singer/guitarist and songwriter Sal Baglio and drummer Mark Cuccinello and quickly became Boston’s most popular band. As the band performed night after night in the many Boston clubs and bars of the day\, word of their incredible live performances and catchy\, high energy rock & roll tunes began to spread. In the coming years\, they performed at almost every college\, roadhouse (including Woody’s in Washington\, MA)\, nightclub\, and concert hall in New England and began to attract the attention of many major record labels. In 1980\, they signed with Boardwalk Records\, which at the time was the home of Ringo Starr\, Harry Chapin and Joan Jett. They toured with both The J. Geils Band and The Beach Boys and after recording with the Boardwalk label\, the group went on to record for Polygram Records. At Polygram\, the band became an FM radio favorite as many stations around the country featured Stomper’s songs such as “Coast to Coast\,” “Never Tell an Angel\,” “Rock Jump and Holler\,” “American Fun” and “One Heart For Sale” on their daily playlists. The Boston Globe named The Stompers as Boston’s Best Band for six consecutive years in the ’80s\, no small feat considering the many talented bands emerging from Boston during the era. The group’s popularity was unmatched in New England throughout the ’80s. \nThe Stompers continue to perform their original brand of Boston rock & roll and 2017 marked the group’s 40th anniversary. Their amazing songs sound as great as ever and their live performances never fail to provide their audience with a remarkable concert experience. \nStompers fan Adam Sandler included their songs “American Fun” and “Never Tell an Angel” on the soundtracks of his Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2 movies. The group’s legion of spirited and loyal fans have been known to drive for hours to catch one of their live shows and has kept the group performing for decades. \nFrom the bars of Boston to national prominence\, The Stompers are a true rock & roll success story. If all you really want is some “American Fun” don’t miss The Stompers’ return to The Berkshires at the Colonial.

SUMMARY:The OLLI Tech Impact Forum presents: Electrifying Transportation An Online Talk with Toyota's Hydrogen Fuel Cell and Electrified Vehicle Heads
DESCRIPTION:The OLLI Tech Impact Forum presents:\nElectrifying Transportation\nAn Online Talk with Toyota’s Hydrogen Fuel Cell and Electrified Vehicle Heads\nTuesday\, November 16\, 5 pm\nFree and open to all | Online via Zoom\nClick here to RSVP \n  \nGiven the major role of automotive transportation worldwide in the increasing level of greenhouse gas emissions\, it has become clear for years that electrification is the best way forward. At the same time\, it must be understood that electrification is the biggest transition the automotive industry has ever had to face. There are major challenges along the entire value chain that need to be resolved in order to reach this goal. One important example is the complementary role of battery electric and fuel cell electric technologies. \nTo explain and clarify these issues\, we have two speakers from Toyota\, a company that has been addressing environmental issues for over 30 years. Dr. Stephan Herbst\, currently acting as the Technical Head Powertrain Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Business Unit of Toyota Motor Europe’s (TME) R&D and Fuel Cell Business Group\, is responsible for hydrogen strategy\, new products and sustainable mobility. He is on the Management Board of the Hydrogen Council and actively involved in Hydrogen Europe. Ash Corson is the Senior Manager for the Electrified Vehicle & Technologies Office (EVTO) of Toyota Motor North America. Working within Toyota’s Corporate Strategy & Planning group\, Ash’s primary responsibilities for EVTO include North American electrified mobility progression\, fuel cell electric powertrain deployment\, and hydrogen infrastructure enablement. Our moderator will be Eric Planey\, CEO of Solablock as of September 2021. Eric has over 25 years of experience in global banking and international economic development\, with a developed expertise in emerging clean technologies. \nThis event is co-sponsored by 1Berkshire and the Berkshire Innovation Center.
