SUMMARY:Wreath Art Auction at Lichtenstein Center for the Arts (Festive Frolic)
DESCRIPTION:Pittsfield’s Office of Cultural Development and the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts\, 28 Renne Avenue\, will host their annual Wreath Art Auction to benefit the South Community Food Pantry on Friday\, December 6. Talented local artists have graciously donated their talent\, time\, and hearts to create beautiful holiday wreaths\, centerpieces\, and much more that will be sold and auctioned off to benefit the South Community Food Pantry. This year\, there will also be a raffle to get a chance to win some amazing gifts. All of the proceeds from this event will benefit the South Community Food Pantry which serves 1200 families a week in Pittsfield. \nGrab and go wreaths will be available starting at 5 pm\, and the top items will be auctioned off at 6:30 pm following the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Park Square. $10 suggested donation at the door.

Barkha Dance Company (BDC) creates works to forge links between contemporary themes and traditional Indian Kathak dance\, and to help guide audiences to a better understanding of Indian culture and art form. \nArtistic Director\, Barkha Patel has presented her solos at Jacob’s Pillow and the NJPAC. Recently\, Pangea Dance Series commissioned BDC to create a 15-minute production exploring immigrant experiences. Tap dancers Demi Remick\, Jackson Clayton\, and Christina Carminucci will be performing tap solos. \nDemi Remick is a YoungArts Gold Award winner in Dance\, one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch\,” and Presidential Scholar in the Arts nominee who tours worldwide as a tap dance soloist with Postmodern Jukebox and Caleb Teicher & Company. \nChristina Carminucci\, born and raised in New Jersey\, is a New York City-based tap dancer. She began her training with the American Tap Dance Foundation’s Tap City Youth Ensemble and has studied extensively under the mentorship of Derick K. Grant. Christina is a Cum Laude graduate from Pace University (2016) with a BBA in Arts and Entertainment Management and can be seen performing\, choreographing\, and teaching throughout NYC. This proud Jacob’s Pillow Tap Program alumna has appeared in works by many of today’s greats\, including Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards\, Brenda Bufalino\, and Jason Samuels Smith\, to name a few. Additionally\, she has danced with a number of notable companies including Michelle Dorrance’s Dorrance Dance and Sarah Reich’s Tap Music Project. Over the past few years\, Christina has performed both locally in the NYC area\, as well as internationally overseas on the #1 rated cruise ship in the world. As an emerging\, young choreographer\, Christina co-produced On That Note\, and\, most recently\, produced her first original one-woman show When the Smoke Clears at the Triad Theater in NYC. Passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of the art form\, she currently teaches at the American Tap Dance Foundation\, where she is in her third season as an Artist in Residence and is on faculty at Steps on Broadway. The TL Collective fuses contemporary dance and theatrical hip-hop with elements of groove and acrobatics\, bringing high levels of athleticism to the stage. \nArtistic Director Micaela Taylor is highly acclaimed\, included as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” and recent recipient of the Inaugural EMERGE Choreographic Award from Springboard Danse Montréal. The TL Collective performs Taylor’s newest evening-length work “Drift”\, which seeks to demonstrate an individual’s ever-changing relationship to self while exposing a personal season of self-growth.
