Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! Block Party & Kids’ Zone!
Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. has announced the return of Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! to celebrate the Halloween season. This year’s event will feature 2 parts: a Block Party and Kids’ Zone inside the McKay Street Parking Garage. The Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! Block Party will be on Saturday, October 21 from 1 to 5 pm and The Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! JR. Kids’ Zone will be on Saturday, October 21 from 1 to 4 pm. Both events have been moved to the McKay Street Parking Garage due to Saturday’s rainy forecast.
Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! Block Party: Saturday, October 21, 1 to 5 pm, inside the McKay Street Parking Garage
To park for the day, enter the Parking Garage via the Depot Street entrance for access to the upper parking levels. The event will be on the McKay Street level.
The It’s Alive! Block Party will feature a Marketplace with 15+ Vendors (see vendor list below), a Beer Garden with Wandering Star Craft Brewery, and food from BB’s Hot Spot. Musician Evan Lanoue will play from 1 to 2:30 pm, and the band Vaguely Pagan will play from 3:30 to 5 pm. There will be a performance by Opal Raven Cirque at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm featuring swords, scarves, and fans.
Evan Lanoue, a local singer-songwriter, found his passion for music at a young age by learning his favorite Beatles songs on piano. Combining his love for guitar and classic rock with major influences such as John Mayer and the Weeknd, Lanoue’s songwriting delivers a soulful and introspective take on heartbreak and the pursuit of happiness.
The Berkshire guitar quartet of Wes Buckley, Brian Kantor, Miles Lally, and Sam McGarrity, known as Vaguely Pagan, keep an audience moving with their roadhouse-rhythmdelics and underbilly sound. Their original songs lean into psych, folk, and rock territory and their covers are the ones you love to move to, no matter your age or sense of humor.
Opal Raven Cirque is a circus and sideshow performer based in Western Massachusetts. She’s known across New England and the Tri-State area for her “Danger Dame of the Flame” variety show. Also known as the Sword Queen of Gypsy Layne, Opal showcases masterful sword spinning, daring prop tricks, and some say she can even speak to snakes.
