Winner of the 2024 Pittsfield Photo Challenge Announced!

This fall, Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. held a photo challenge to find the photo that best captures why downtown Pittsfield is the “Heart of the Berkshires”. Entrants were encouraged to capture photos that showcased the beauty and personality of downtown Pittsfield, keeping in mind the theme “Heart of the Berkshires”.

The winner, as determined by a panel of local judges, is Brian Beckett. His photo “All of the Lights” has won him a prize package donated by local downtown businesses, and his photo will be featured in Pittsfield’s 2025 Downtown Guide.

“The idea for this photo came to me shortly after I started a foray into drone photography,” said Brian. “I thought, wouldn’t North Street look amazing from above? So I set forth to find the perfect time of day and angle, trying multiple spots on multiple days. I settled on this one location, on the corner of North and Maplewood Avenue. This is a 1.6 second long exposure photo that really captured all of the lights you can see on North Street.”
