Opening Reception: Jody King Camarra
Hotel on North will feature an exhibition of mixed media and collage by Jody King Camarra October through December of 2026. There will be an opening reception with the artist on Friday, October 2, from 5 to 7 pm.
Jody King Camarra is a mixed-media artist, illustrator, and teaching artist living and working in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Her studio practice explores the possibilities of collage, gel-plate monoprinting, found papers, and other layered materials.
Camarra’s work begins with experimentation. She prints, tears, cuts, prints, layers, obscures, and rebuilds, allowing both intention and chance to shape the final piece. Her process often leaves behind traces of what came before: torn edges, buried marks, unexpected textures, and fragments that suggest memory, change, and transformation.
This exhibition at Hotel on North features mostly new mixed-media, monoprints and collages created in her Ashley Falls studio. Together, the works reflect an ongoing interest in the imperfect, physical, and intuitive nature of making art by hand.
