Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. (DPI) will host its 1st Annual Downtown Pittsfield Fall Cleanup on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 1 to 4 pm. 18 teams made up of over 100 volunteers from local businesses will sport trash bags, rakes, and brooms and take to the streets of Pittsfield for the three hour cleanup next Friday afternoon. After 21 successful annual spring cleanups, DPI has added a fall cleanup for the very first time this year.

For over twenty years, local businesses have supported this initiative of Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. and have come together for a fun afternoon of hard work and competition. The fall cleanup will feature teams from Albany Berkshire Ballet, Barrington Stage Company, Berkshire Community College’s Fitness for Life class, Berkshire Bank, Berkshire Medical Center, BFAIR, Carr Hardware, City of Pittsfield, Cohen Kinne Valicenti & Cook LLP, Cross Insurance/Cross Surety, Greylock Federal Credit Union, Guardian, Guidewire Inc., Hotel on North, Pittsfield High School, RE-FORMation Academy, TKG Real Estate, and Wayfair.

During the event, three judges, Pittsfield Police Chief Michael Wynn, Cornelius J. Hoss (City Planner, City of Pittsfield), and Jen Glockner (Director of Cultural Development, City of Pittsfield) will choose 4 cleanup award winners.

The following awards will be presented:
1. Art of Recycling – Most energetic team
2. Broken Blister – A small team that did a BIG job
3. Crushed Soda Can – Remembered to have fun and still got the job done
4. Golden Trash Bag – Used extraordinary measures to get the job done
