On a Friday afternoon in July, 10 teams from downtown Pittsfield businesses joined forces to clean up downtown Pittsfield, sweeping sidewalks, picking up trash, and re-painting the bike racks a new green color.

Downtown Pittsfield Inc. (DPI)’s Annual Downtown Pittsfield Cleanups are good-natured competitions between local companies supporting an important part of DPI’s Quality of Life Committee’s mission to keep downtown clean, safe, and friendly.

The downtown cleanup area includes North and South Streets between East/West Housatonic and Berkshire Medical Center and all side streets.

This year the participating teams were:

Barrington Stage Company, Berkshire Medical Center, Berkshire Museum, Carr Hardware, Cohen Kinne Valicenti & Cook LLP, Dulye Leadership Experience, Framework Pittsfield Coworking, Guidewire Inc., Hotel on North, and Lee Bank.
