Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. (DPI) will host its 21st Annual Downtown Pittsfield Spring Cleanup on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 1 to 4 pm. 29 teams made up of over 150 volunteers from local businesses will sport trash bags, rakes, and brooms and take to the streets of Pittsfield for the three hour clean up this Friday afternoon.
For over twenty years, local businesses have supported this initiative of Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. and have come together for a fun afternoon of hard work and competition. This year will feature teams from 1Berkshire, Barrington Stage Company, Berkshire Bank, Berkshire County ARC, Berkshire Family YMCA, Berkshire Housing, Berkshire Medical Center, Berkshire Museum, Berkshire Theatre Group, Berkshire Regional Transit Authority, City of Pittsfield, Cohen Kinne Valicenti & Cook, Crane Currency, Framework Coworking, General Dynamics, Greylock Federal Credit Union, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Guidewire Inc, Hotel on North, Miraval Resorts, MountainOne, North Street Residents, Pittsfield Cooperative Bank, Radiance Yoga, RBC Wealth Management, Teton Management Corp, UNICO of Pittsfield, and the West Side Neighborhood Initiative.
After the Cleanup, an awards ceremony for participants will be hosted by J. Allen’s Clubhouse Grille. Event judges Mayor Linda Tyer, Chief Michael Wynn, Chief Bob Czerwinski, and Senator Adam Hinds will determine the award winners. Special guest Pittsfield Suns Mascot Ray will also be out cheering on the teams.
DPI’s Annual Downtown Pittsfield Spring Cleanup is an important part of DPI’s Quality of Life Committee’s mission to keep downtown clean, safe, and friendly.
