The professional staff of Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. (DPI) conducts the day-to-day business of the organization and implements the programs and directives established by DPI’s Board of Directors with the help of community volunteers and committees.
Rebecca Brien, Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. Managing Director
Rebecca Brien, most recently the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsfield, brings a combined professional background in business, sales, and hospitality, along with a passion for fundraising and volunteerism, to her new role as Managing Director of DPI. Her career in the hospitality field included key positions at Cranwell Resort and Canyon Ranch, and in the business sector, Brien worked for Country Curtains and KB Toys, managing inventory, analyzing sales, and maximizing revenue. Brien brings key skills to her new role in building relationships with business owners, residents, and visitors.
A native of Richmond, MA, Brien attended local schools and studied Hotel Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts at Berkshire Community College. She lives in Pittsfield with her husband, David, and their four rescue dogs. Brien spends her spare time quilting, gardening, and volunteering for organizations such as the Thanksgiving Baking Angels and EforAll. She sits on the boards of the Pediatric Development Center and the Pittsfield Parade Committee and is a member of the Berkshire Business & Professional Women’s group and a 2019 graduate of the Berkshire Leadership Program. Kimberly Gritman, Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. Marketing Coordinator
Kimberly, born and raised in Pittsfield, MA, is passionate about building and strengthening her community. She is honored to be able to help spread positive and important messages about Pittsfield through her capacity as Downtown Pittsfield, Inc.’s marketing coordinator, a position she has held since the summer of 2017.
Kimberly is a two-time alumnus of Berkshire Community College with associates degrees in Theatre and Business Administration and was honored as the co-valedictorian of the class of 2009. She has a bachelor’s degree from MCLA in the Performing Arts, graduating Summa Cum Laude, with coursework including arts management. Kimberly has served as the lead coordinator of Pittsfield’s First Fridays Artswalk since January of 2014 and has been active with the Berkshire Community College (BCC) Players since 2007. She has appeared in numerous plays and musicals at the college. She has also appeared at the Whitney Center for the Arts in Pittsfield and the Spectrum Playhouse in Lee.

Arri Better, Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. Executive Administrator
Arri started her career working for the City of Pittsfield at the Council on Aging, the Pittsfield Police Department, and the Personnel Department. At the Council on Aging, Arri was an Outreach Worker counseling Seniors on health insurance programs. She also ran the programs that occurred at the Senior Center including the Brown Bag Program which helps supplement seniors with extra food each month. Arri expanded her work-related talents by working at the Children’s Place, Dick Sporting Goods, and Webster Electric. Through her career she has gained knowledge working in customer service, human resources, and office management.
Arri joined the Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. team in October 2021. She is enthusiastic about working for a non-profit establishment and is eager to learn grant writing. She is delighted to be part of the DPI organization and to help facilitate growth to our ever-growing beautiful downtown.
In her spare time, Arri enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, exercising, and record shopping. Contact Arri
